Exploration France is a funding program implemented by the Department for Science and Technology of the Embassy of France to Japan and dedicated to researchers from Japanese institutions. The aim is to allow researchers based in Japan to discover and explore the French research and development landscape in their field of interest, thereby fostering the establishment of new French-Japanese collaborations.
All scientific disciplines are eligible.
The questions asked in the form mainly concern the candidate's research activities, their motivation for the exploratory mission and its organisation.
The call of proposals is open to researchers of all nationalities, affiliated to laboratories attached to universities, research bodies or companies in Japan.
Students and PhD candidates are not eligible.
French researchers based in Japan can apply only for a short stay.

- Invitation letter(s) in English or French from laboratorie(s) or researcher(s) you wish to visit (PDF). It must be written on official letterheaded of the establishment concerned and showing clearly the dates of the applicant's stay as well as the name and position of the signatory.
